Jakarta – Located in the Cakti Buddhi Bhakti Hall, DJP Headquarters, the Directorate General of Taxes (DJP) held a Socialisation of Tax Obligations in the Palm Oil and Derivatives Sector on Friday, 28 November 2025. The event was attended by around 200 business actors representing 137 strategic taxpayers in the palm oil sector.
In his speech, Minister of Finance Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa expressed his appreciation to all participants for their active participation in the agenda. He emphasised that the socialisation event was part of the government's ongoing efforts to encourage compliance and optimise state revenue from this sector, which is one of the pillars of the national economy.
"Thank you to all the participants who attended this morning's event. Actually, I was not scheduled to attend; this was sudden. Mr Bimo said earlier that if the Minister came, hopefully tax revenue would increase significantly," said Purbaya.

He added that regarding the joint operation between the Ministry of Finance and the National Police that successfully uncovered the smuggling of CPO derivative products in early November 2025, Purbaya emphasised that the measure was not intended to scare business actors, but rather to ensure that business activities were carried out in accordance with the provisions of the law.
"If there are any difficulties or problems, report them to me. We will resolve them. What is clear is that we want the palm oil industry to remain the backbone of Indonesian industry," he added.
Furthermore, Purbaya also revealed that the government wants to create a healthy and fair business climate. Fiscal policy will be directed to benefit business actors while strengthening state revenue.
"Friends in the business world, we ask for your cooperation for the sake of our collective success and to maximise your contribution to this country," said Purbaya.

Meanwhile, Director General of Taxes Bimo Wijayanto also explained that as a follow-up to the disclosure of the latest export violation modus operandi, the DGT has identified a number of other alleged irregularities, including under-invoicing practices and the use of fictitious invoices/TBTS.
"On this occasion, we urge you to immediately make voluntary corrections before the DGT takes legal action against parties who are indicated to be non-compliant," he explained.
In fact, Bimo emphasised the government's commitment to strengthening the governance of the palm oil industry to make it more transparent, accountable, and sustainable, as well as able to maintain competitiveness in the global market. Not only that, he also said that the DGT would remain committed to conducting professional and proportional supervision, as well as opening dialogue with business actors to ensure increased compliance without hampering economic activity.
"Let's use this momentum as a concrete step to increase compliance and strengthen state revenue," he concluded.
For information, the socialisation event was also attended by the Chair and Deputy Chair of the State Revenue Optimisation Task Force (OPN), Herry Muryanto and Novel Baswedan, as well as representatives of the Chair of the Forest Area Control Task Force (PKH) from the Indonesian Attorney General's Office, Dedie Tri Haryadi, Director of Human Rights at the Indonesian Attorney General's Office.
