Jakarta - Amid increasingly complex tax regulations, the role of tax consultants is no longer limited to tax calculation and reporting. Furthermore, tax consultants have also become strategic partners for taxpayers and the Directorate General of Taxes (DGT). On the other hand, tax consultants also need to be better known to taxpayers and the wider community. One way to do this is through tax consultant branding. To learn more about this, the Indonesian Public Tax Consultants Association (AKP2I) held an online Sharing Session entitled “Management and Branding of Tax Consultant Offices” on Saturday (20/12).
AKP2I Chairman Suherman Saleh said that this sharing session was very important for tax consultants. This is because tax consultant branding is a crucial factor in building client trust.
“Strong branding not only represents the professional identity of a tax consultant, but also reflects the competence, integrity, and credibility of tax consultants in providing the right solutions for taxpayers,” he said in an official statement.
He added that through branding, tax consultants can create a clear and consistent image or brand that makes it easier for taxpayers to choose a reliable tax consultant among the many similar service providers.
"Therefore, effective branding plays an important role in increasing the competitiveness and sustainability of tax consulting practices. Through branding, tax consultants can emphasize the differentiation of their services, their expertise, and the added value they offer, such as a consultative approach, the use of technology, and a deep understanding of specific business sectors," he added.
Branding is Value
Appearing as a guest speaker, AKP2I Supervisory Board and Senior Tax Consultant Puspahadi Boenjamin said that branding itself is the price or value of a tax consulting company.
"First, if a company has no price, no value , then the value of that company will not be appreciated by the public. Second, the company will have no future because it will have no clients. Third, without branding, there will be no success for a tax consulting firm," he said.
Furthermore, he also said that tax consultant branding is more about how a consultant presents themselves because it will have a big impact on the sustainability of the tax consulting business.
“The first step in branding is to give out business cards. Business cards should be made attractive. By distributing business cards at any opportunity, we will become known,” he explained. Next, the second step in branding is to be introduced by someone to potential clients, also known as a letter of introduction," he explained.
Not only that, Puspahadi also outlined various tax consultant office management materials to support the creation of maximum branding. Starting from how to make a meeting attendance list, examples of reports on meetings with clients, how to convey the tax consultant's opinion after the meeting, examples of tax consultant introduction letters, how to make an offer letter, and the preparation of standard operating procedures (SOP) in a tax consultant office.
